Tyler Imanian
Security architect researching how risk moves between interdependent systems, from city lifelines to the AI built into them.
About
Tyler Imanian is an Enterprise Security Architect at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he advises financial services, enterprise, and energy-sector clients on governance, risk, and compliance, AI security, and risk management.
His research asks why known risks go unprioritized in complex systems, and how threat modeling and security operations can keep up as AI is built into critical infrastructure. He holds a B.S. in Cybersecurity from the University of Mary Washington.
Research interests
- Emergent risk in systems of systems and critical infrastructure
- Risk management frameworks, including NIST CSF 2.0 and ISO 31000
- AI threat modeling and adversarial machine learning
- The handoff between vulnerability management and security operations

Reads the 2025 Richmond water crisis and the 2021 Texas grid-to-water cascade through ISO 31000, and finds that in both cases the risks were known but prioritized wrong. Proposes a lifeline system-of-systems profile of NIST CSF 2.0 to fix that.
